A paid 12-month, part-time cadetship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in or completing legal studies, including undergraduate, combined undergraduate or postgraduate legal degrees. Cadets work 14 hours per week within the Law Reform and Legal Services Division, gaining legal professional experience alongside mentors and receiving cultural and study support. Applicants need strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to learn on the job. No previous legal work experience is required. The cadetship can support transition to the graduate stream and, after completion of the graduate program, full-time employment.
