A 24-month graduate placement for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants who have recently completed legal studies or are undertaking the Graduate Diploma of Legal Studies, with ongoing employment opportunities within the Law Reform and Legal Services Division after successful completion. Graduates rotate across positions and teams, including Policy, Reform and Legislation and DCJ Legal, to develop legal experience and explore areas of interest. Participants receive employment support, mentoring and cultural support, and those undertaking the practical legal training program can complete its practical component as part of their employment. Applicants need to have completed undergraduate or postgraduate studies within the past 12 months, or be completing undergraduate studies within three months after applying, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective time management and a willingness to learn. No previous legal work experience is required. Graduate positions can be full time or part time.
