A virtual six-day professional-development course for talented beginning creative writers of color. Participants learn the foundations of professionalizing their literary practices and profiles, preparing for funding and artist residency applications, and becoming competitive for opportunities that support author careers. The course is for BIPOC writers in any genre with five or fewer publication credits, no major literary grant, fellowship, or residency, no doctoral degree in Creative Writing, Literature, English, or an ancillary field, and a Bachelor's degree. Participants should have a group of poems, a short story, article, essay, script, or novel excerpt ready to submit. Participants who complete the week successfully are invited to share excerpts during the Saturday Public Reading.
