Work in Fen Rivers alternative education provision with students who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, teaching in small groups. The role includes helping students stay on task, delivering SEN interventions, implementing lesson plans, supporting testing and assessment, providing feedback and counselling, preparing written reports, supervising students, maintaining records, liaising with parents and external contacts, and supporting safeguarding. The work requires flexibility, sensitivity, patience and resilience, as well as creativity and passion for engaging students. Essential requirements include a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification, Level 2 English and Maths, experience teaching children with EAL, SEN, speech and language difficulties or other complex needs, and the ability to work independently with individuals and groups, manage challenging behaviour, support teaching activities and build effective relationships. The post is permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time only, and is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
