Details.
Locally delivered minocycline antibiotic placed into selected periodontal pockets after scaling and root planing to reduce harmful bacteria and support healing. The process includes gum assessment, scaling and root planing, ARESTIN placement, sustained medication release over about one to two weeks, and follow-up periodontal measurements. Placement is typically quick and comfortable. Aftercare includes avoiding disturbance of treated areas for 12 hours, delaying flossing treated teeth for about 10 days unless advised otherwise, avoiding hard, crunchy, or sticky foods near treated areas for one week, maintaining gentle brushing and daily oral hygiene, and avoiding tobacco.
