Details.
Also called gum contouring or gingival recontouring, this procedure adjusts excess or uneven gum tissue to improve gumline symmetry and tooth proportions. Treatment may use a dental laser or traditional micro-instruments, with limited bone contouring when needed to maintain periodontal health. Includes consultation, photos and measurements, local anesthesia, precise tissue reshaping, an immediate contouring check, and written aftercare instructions. Ideal candidates have healthy gums without active periodontal disease. Mild swelling or tenderness may occur for a few days, and most healing occurs within 1 to 2 weeks. Avoid hard, spicy, or very hot foods for several days and limit strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours. Most visits take 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of teeth involved.
