Studio VARA is seeking a Project Architect to work with principals and Project Managers across all project phases from schematic design through construction administration, including permitting and plan check. The role includes consultant coordination, detailing and documentation of interior and exterior architecture, specifications and schedules, task delegation, project scheduling, client correspondence, code compliance review, and QA/QC. Candidates should have 7 to 10 years of experience, including multifamily, high-end residential, or commercial projects, a degree from a school of architecture, Revit proficiency, Type V construction knowledge, strong English communication skills, experience mentoring junior staff, and modern design skills. Preferred qualifications include experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, V-Ray, 3D Max, Enscape, AutoCAD, project management or team leadership experience, and California licensure or progress toward licensure. This is a hybrid, full-time exempt position, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with in-person work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at the San Francisco Mission District studio and optional work from home Wednesdays and Fridays. Benefits include employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, and a 401k. Salary is $115,000 to $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
