Promote school readiness by supporting the social and cognitive development of enrolled children through educational, health, nutritional, social and related services. Create developmentally appropriate curricula, design and manage the classroom environment, safeguard supplies and equipment, plan curricula with teaching staff and families, maintain relationships with children and families, observe and report developmental or health concerns, evaluate progress, complete required documentation, conduct parent-teacher conferences, maintain a safe and nurturing environment, manage behavior and supervision, implement behavior plans, develop weekly lesson plans and newsletters, support language expansion and problem solving, monitor learning and progress, attend training and staff meetings, maintain confidentiality, and supervise classroom assistants and volunteers. Requires a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field and current valid certification issued by the State Education Department, or equivalent certification recognized through New York State reciprocity.
