Help the lead teacher manage a classroom of children five years or younger. Duties include instructing and supervising children in social and developmental activities, assisting with feeding and changing, providing individual attention, maintaining a safe and clean learning environment, following the NYS Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core selected curriculum and BumbleBeesRus policies, planning activities, organizing classroom materials, supporting developmental assessments and lesson plans, supervising behavior, observing and reporting health or safety concerns, maintaining attendance and confidential records, attending training and staff meetings, and assuming the teacher's role when the teacher is absent. The position requires a nurturing, caring, calm and cooperative approach when working with children, teachers, volunteers, parents and program specialists.
