NAEMT will award up to four scholarships of $1,250, which may be used for tuition, fees and books. Scholarships are for students of color who do not hold an EMS certification but intend to become an EMT or paramedic. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a commitment to community service. Applications are accepted from August 1 through September 30. Applicants must submit a complete online application by the deadline, including a narrative of 1,000 words or less. Additional requirements include beginning and completing the educational program, maintaining passing grades and good standing, seeking certification upon completion, providing follow-up information, and signing a contract agreeing to the scholarship guidelines.
