NAEMT Diversity Scholarship

NAEMT will award up to four scholarships of $1,250, which may be used for tuition, fees and books. Scholarships are for students of color who do not hold an EMS certification but intend to become an EMT or paramedic. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a commitment to community service. Applications are accepted from August 1 through September 30. Applicants must submit a complete online application by the deadline, including a narrative of 1,000 words or less. Additional requirements include beginning and completing the educational program, maintaining passing grades and good standing, seeking certification upon completion, providing follow-up information, and signing a contract agreeing to the scholarship guidelines.

Summer 2022 Basic EMT Course

The course is offered during the day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except July 4. There are no Saturday classes. The course begins June 27, 2022 and ends August 12, 2022. Tuition is $1,850.00 and the deposit is $395.00. Payment plans are available.

Winter 2022 Basic EMT Course

Weeknight class sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. Saturday sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The course runs from January 24, 2022 through May 14, 2022. Tuition is $1,850.00 and the deposit is $395.00. Payment plans are available.

Fall 2022 Basic EMT Course

The weeknight class sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. Saturday sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. Class meets Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and select Saturdays. Dates and Saturdays are TBA. Tuition is $1,850.00 and the deposit is $350.00.

Management of Aggressive Behavior

The course covers techniques for talking down patients who are behaving aggressively. Verbal and physical techniques will be practiced. Eight continuing education credits are applied for. Wear comfortable clothing. Sign up for one of the listed dates, which are currently TBA. Cost includes the book and lunch. Price is $85.00.

StarFire EMS, Inc. is a Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services accredited training institution (ATI) offering initial, continuing education, and NCCR (refresher) course programs in our Haverhill classroom location. We also offer the initial EMT course at Haverhill High School, Haverhill, MA for senior students only. All courses meet or exceed Massachusetts and USDOT/NHTSA requirements for depth and breadth of content. Historically, StarFire EMS students are successful on their first attempt at the pyschomotor exams and similarly do well on the cognitive exams (most pass the first time through). CPR certification is included in the program cost. State testing and certification fees are EXTRA!!
