A veneer is a fine layer of tooth-like ceramic bonded to the front of the tooth for highly aesthetic corrections while preserving tooth health. Veneers can correct the shape and colour of aesthetically unsatisfactory front teeth. Only the aesthetically unsatisfactory front surface usually needs slight preparation, and sometimes no preparation at all. The treatment includes test veneers made from plastic and tried in as a mock-up, with the option to adjust their shape and wear them temporarily before they are transferred into tooth-like ceramic. The practice works with a dental technician specialising in anterior tooth aesthetics, uses dental ceramics made in Germany, and applies modern bonding techniques. Veneers are generally stated to last well over 10 years. A routine dental check-up is part of the consultation. Veneers are not suitable for extensively damaged front teeth, and strongly discoloured teeth require clarification and treatment of the cause first.
