Excess skin or protruding fatty tissue is removed during upper eyelid surgery. The skin to be removed is precisely marked so that the eyelid closes well afterwards. The incision and fine suture are placed in the upper eyelid fold, with suture removal after about one week. Swelling or bruising may remain visible for one to two weeks.
