Corneal Cross-Linking

at Augenarztpraxis Savignyplatz · Berlin

Details.

Cross-linking can stabilise the cornea in suitable cases of keratoconus and slow its progression. The procedure usually takes 30 to 40 minutes and is performed with local anaesthetic eye drops. Allow one to two hours at the practice on the treatment day. Pain, light sensitivity and a pronounced foreign-body sensation may occur during the first few days. Contact lenses cannot be worn immediately after the procedure, and follow-up checks are performed closely at first.
