A less invasive mitral valve repair procedure using a transcatheter MitraClip device to suture the mitral valve leaflets and increase their coaptation. It is indicated for patients with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation who are at high risk for conventional heart surgery. The procedure is performed through a small incision in the groin and typically takes one to three hours, sometimes longer depending on case complexity.
