Less invasive mitral valve repair for selected patients with severe degenerative or functional mitral regurgitation, including patients at high risk for conventional heart surgery. The procedure uses a MitraClip device to secure the mitral valve leaflets and is performed through a small incision in the groin. Advanced imaging techniques, including three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography, are used to assess candidacy and monitor progress.
