Also called pulp therapy. The diseased or dead top portion of the pulp is removed, while the deeper uninfected pulp tissue is covered with medication. The baby tooth is then restored with a filling or crown to extend its lifespan until it naturally falls out. Preserving the baby tooth helps prevent crowding and allows proper eruption of adult teeth.
