Details.
Surgical revision of a previously implanted hip prosthesis, indicated after normal implant wear or in cases of prosthesis dysfunction or other issues. Treatment is preceded by a rigorous diagnostic assessment of the muscles, tendons, bone stock, prosthetic fixation, implant positioning and wear, prosthesis reference, and prior surgical approach. Possible solutions include soft tissue intervention without implant modification, replacement of one or both prosthetic components, osteosynthesis or metal reinforcement, and bone graft reconstruction.
