Surgical repair of gluteal tendon ruptures, performed by arthroscopy or conventional surgery. The procedure includes assessment of the lesions, removal of poor-quality tendon, preparation of the greater trochanter, and tendon fixation with 4 to 6 resorbable bone anchors. After surgery, walking resumes after a few hours with partial weight-bearing and two crutches. Crutches are gradually abandoned from 6 weeks, when rehabilitation with strengthening exercises and massages begins.
