Details.

An outpatient endoscopy procedure that uses heat generated from high frequency alternating current to ablate diseased tissue, including esophageal dysplasia or Barrett's esophagus. A catheter delivers radiofrequency energy to the affected area. Follow-up upper endoscopy is commonly performed three months after treatment to assess for residual Barrett's esophagus, which may be re-treated if found.
