In-home occupational therapy helps patients recover from or adapt to disability or illness. The team works with patients, family members, and the primary physician to create and carry out a plan of care. Services include assessment and evaluation, therapeutic programs, restoring physical function, promoting strength, coordination and balance, restoring sensory or integrative function, teaching compensation methods, designing and fitting orthotic or self-help devices, and increasing independence in activities of daily living.
