A fat transfer procedure using the body's own fat tissue to treat deep wrinkles, enlarge lips, lift cheekbones, correct hollow cheeks and fade skin irregularities. Performed under local anaesthetic, fat is taken from the area at the height of the navel, cleaned using centrifugation and injected into the lips or beneath deep folds. Bruising, swelling and skin discolouration may occur after treatment, normally disappearing after about ten days. The procedure may sometimes need to be repeated after three months because around 30 to 50% of injected fat cells can be lost during the first days.
