A comprehensive laser eye surgery assessment including a refraction eye test, detailed eye scanning and a full ophthalmic assessment with eye pressure and retinal examination. The consultation lasts around 1.5 to 2 hours. Patients should bring spectacle prescriptions from the last two years where possible, avoid hard or gas permeable contact lenses for at least two weeks and soft contact lenses for at least 3 to 4 days beforehand. Pupils will be dilated, so driving is not advisable for a few hours afterwards.
