Laser treatment using different wavelengths according to skin and hair colour. Suitable for large areas and generally most effective on thick, pigmented brown or black hairs. Treatment is performed on shaved hair, with the roots left intact for one month beforehand, so waxing and tweezing should be avoided. Sun and UV exposure are prohibited for at least two months before treatment and for 15 days afterwards. Cooling or local anaesthesia may be offered.
