Quarterly maintenance includes visual checks for obstructions, damage, defects and shortcomings in protection; checks of fire alarm panels, power supplies, voltages, fuses and controls; simulated fault testing; rotational testing of manual call points and automatic fire detectors; testing of fire alarm sounders and ancillary equipment under fire conditions; checking that required keys are available on site; completion of a test report detailing results and corrective or recommended actions; and reporting findings to the responsible person on site with an entry in the fire alarm log book.
