A keratoconus treatment involving topical anaesthesia, partial removal of the corneal surface epithelium, application of riboflavin eye drops for 30 minutes, and exposure to UVA light for 30 minutes. After treatment, antibiotic drops are applied, a bandage contact lens is placed, and a clear eye shield is worn overnight. Oral analgesics are required for the first 1 to 2 days. Follow-up includes visits soon after treatment, at one month, three months, six months and one year, followed by annual reviews. Contact lenses may be worn again after one month.
