Treatment for keratoconus using riboflavin eye drops and exposure to UVA light. Performed under topical anaesthesia, with the corneal surface partially scratched, followed by 30 minutes of riboflavin drops and 30 minutes of UVA exposure. After treatment, antibiotic drops, a bandage contact lens and an eye shield are used. Oral analgesics are required for the first 1 to 2 days. Follow-up includes visits soon after the procedure, at one month, three months, six months and one year, followed by annual reviews. Contact lenses may be worn again after one month.
