Botulinum Toxin A Injections

at Mr Sachin Malde · London

Details.

Botulinum toxin A is injected into the bladder wall through a cystoscope to reduce abnormal bladder contractions. The procedure involves a hospital day visit and may be performed under local or general anaesthetic. Patients can usually go home the same day. Injections are repeated every 6 to 12 months. Some people may need to use a catheter temporarily, and there is an increased risk of urinary tract infection. Soreness and blood in the urine for up to two days may occur after treatment.
