Swap Days

Each child is entitled to three swap days per year, from 1st April to 31st March, which can be used in lieu of missed attendance due to sickness or holiday. Swap days cannot be offered for bank holidays or inset days. To book a swap day, you must know which missed day it replaces and book at least one day in advance with the reception team.

Free childcare funding

The Arc Nursery offers both 15 and 30-hours free childcare. If your child is entitled to 30 hours funding, this can be used in conjunction with other settings.

Sibling discount

Siblings benefit from a 15% discount on the fees of the eldest child where two or more children of the same household attend the nursery at the same time.

Weekday Childcare

High-quality weekday childcare for babies from 3 months, toddlers and children aged up to 5. Open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, except inset days and public holidays.

Breakfast

Breakfast is available at the nursery, with a choice of cereal, toast, eggs and cheese, plus milk or water to drink.

Morning Nursery Activities

Children take part in craft and focus activities, including drawing, cutting and sticking, outdoor play, climbing, bikes, balancing, bug hunts, mud kitchen play, painting, mark making, small world play, fantasy and role play, stories and singing. Malleable activities support learning about texture and exploring the senses.

Morning Snack

Children wash their hands and help themselves to fruit, milk or water. They can cut up their own fruit and pour their own drink.

Lunch

Children listen to a story and sing songs before washing their hands and sitting down for lunch. They serve their own food from dishes and talk with friends about their activities.

Afternoon Play and Rest

After lunch, children help choose equipment for indoor or outdoor play. Children who are tired can rest in the quiet sleep area.

Children have a second snack in the afternoon. Snack may be enjoyed outdoors as a teddy bears picnic or taken along when visiting the park or exploring the local area.

At 4pm, children help tidy up ready for teatime and sometimes help to make it. After tea, they continue playing with their chosen equipment.
