Dissertation language editing
The Max Geldner Dissertation Fund provides a one-time contribution towards language editing for dissertations that are not written in the author's first language, or whose authors' language skills are insufficient for a high-quality final edit. Only language editing of the publication version is subsidised. The application must include a standard quotation from the editing service with the usual service details and a recommendation from the first supervisor confirming that the dissertation is ready for publication and that any publication requirements stated in the dissertation reviews have been fulfilled. The grant is paid directly upon submission of the invoice.

Open access publication grant
The fund supports publication of the fourth article in a cumulative doctoral programme, provided it is published in a fee-based online journal with a peer-review process. The application form must be submitted together with the quotation or invoice and a recommendation from the first supervisor. The recommendation must confirm that the journal is a high-quality specialist journal, such as an A journal, with peer review. The article must have been demonstrably accepted by the journal. The grant is paid directly upon submission of the invoice.
