Opening an HSBC account overseas is completely free if you already have an HSBC Premier account in Vietnam. Maintaining a balance in the overseas account depends on the country selected as the primary Premier country and that country's HSBC requirements. Examples stated in the webinar include minimum deposits of USD 200,000 in Singapore, USD 1,000,000 in Hong Kong, USD 75,000 in the United States, and GBP 75,000 in the United Kingdom. If Vietnam is selected as the primary Premier account, the minimum balance is VND 1 billion, approximately USD 45,000. Premier benefits are global regardless of the country selected.

Overseas Investment Capital Account

Vietnamese citizens aged 18 or older who are HSBC Premier customers with an existing account and a need to invest overseas may apply for an overseas investment capital account. The account supports transferring investment capital to an overseas project and receiving lawful profits or income from that project. Applicants must provide an overseas investment registration certificate and a foreign exchange transaction registration certificate issued by the competent authority. Every incoming or outgoing transaction requires supporting documents, and transfers must match the amount, currency and timing authorised in the relevant licence. If transferring an existing account from another bank, additional account statements and confirmation of transaction history are required, along with an update to the registered bank details with the licensing authority.

Two eligible amateur golfers who won the HSBC Premier Ambassador competition may represent HSBC Vietnam at the World Golf Championships, HSBC Champions VIP Hospitality programme in Shanghai, China.
