Ticket Donations

Tickets with unused value of less than $1 can be donated to local nonprofits. Check with the nonprofit or charity organization to confirm whether it accepts these small value tickets. Former Tiny Ticket nonprofit organizations can still submit these tickets directly to BART Treasury for a refund.

Paper Ticket Refunds

BART offers refunds for paper tickets with a remaining value greater than $1. There is no deadline for requesting a refund. Refunds can be requested by dropping off tickets at the Customer Services Center at Lake Merritt Station in a sealed envelope addressed to BART's Treasury Department, or by mailing the tickets to BART's Treasury Department. BART will process the refund and mail a check to the address provided. Refunds may take 3-4 weeks to process. BART does not offer cash refunds. Full unused paratransit ticket books are also refundable. Tickets purchased using pre-tax dollars or Commuter Checks are not refundable due to federal restrictions.

Student Group Sales

Enrolled students of elementary, middle, and high schools located in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties on a school-sponsored field trip for educational purposes are eligible. Students must be chaperoned by adults at a ratio of at least 1 adult per 15 students, and all must enter, travel, and exit stations as a group. Students on school field trips receive a 62.5% discount to the full Clipper fare. Adult chaperones pay the full Clipper fare. BART must receive the paid order at least 21 working days in advance of the travel date for processing.
