A newly created role in a separate small animal dentistry department at a large private veterinary clinic in southwestern Germany. Responsibilities include independently conducting dental consultations, acting as the main contact for pet owners, colleagues and referring practices, performing fracture, root, enamel and dental restoration treatments, providing prosthetics and dental replacements, cooperating with surgical and ENT colleagues, using internal and external diagnostics including ultrasound, X-ray, DVT X-ray, CT and MRI, performing surgery or working with surgical colleagues, maintaining relationships with referring practices, and delivering continuing education for clinic staff. The role requires a veterinary medicine degree, several years of clinical experience in a veterinary faculty or private veterinary clinic, independent working skills and sound specialist knowledge. Ideally, candidates have completed specialist training, a residency or hold EVDC or AVDC Diplomate status. The clinic offers high case numbers, the opportunity to build and lead the dentistry department, modern technical equipment, and support for external training through paid leave and financial funding. With appropriate qualifications, the role may carry senior veterinarian status and department leadership responsibility.
