The Other Palace is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Technician to support the delivery of production elements and events, as well as the upkeep of the building and facilities. The role has a strong sound focus, with a basic understanding of sound and lighting required. Responsibilities include delivering technical requirements for productions and events, supporting studio events and audiovisual requirements, attending maintenance and equipment checks, undertaking health and safety checks, and participating in get-ins, fit-ups, technical rehearsals, performances and get-outs. Applicants should have demonstrable technical theatre or touring experience, knowledge of technical disciplines including sound system set-up, sound desk operation, QLab playback, lighting and basic rigging, experience of sound mixing for musicals or live music, and an understanding of relevant health and safety legislation. The role requires willingness to work evenings and weekends. The position offers 40 hours per week at £27,400 to £30,000 per annum, plus BECTU house agreement rates.
