Tax Advisory - SALT Manager

Reports directly to the leader in charge of State and Local Taxes and requires in-depth knowledge of corporate state income tax, indirect taxes, and state compliance, along with a proven record of managing successful tax teams. Responsibilities include reviewing stand-alone and consolidated state C-Corp income tax returns, assisting with planning and special projects, establishing relationships with internal and external tax personnel, supporting CFGI team members, and developing and mentoring junior team members. Candidates should understand indirect tax process and system evaluations, state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations, planning, restructuring, audit defense, reverse audits, controversy work, and sales tax software such as Avalara and Vertex. The role also requires tax research skills covering consolidated and unitary filing requirements, apportionment methodologies, and multistate issues, the ability to multitask under deadlines, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and accountability for completing assignments independently. Requirements include 5 or more years of relevant Big 4 accounting or corporate tax experience, a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, and willingness to travel to local client sites. A master's degree in taxation, CPA, or JD is preferred.
