Join the Asian American Recovery Services outpatient program as a student intern or volunteer. The program provides culturally and linguistically appropriate treatment for individuals experiencing substance use disorders and/or problem gambling, with services offered in Chinese dialects, Japanese, and English. Interns and volunteers may provide case management, referral services, screening and intake, individual and group counseling under supervision, clinical documentation, administrative support, research, community outreach, and information about addiction services. Candidates must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in psychology, counseling, or social work, be interested in working with Chinese-speaking populations, commit to a full calendar year, and speak at least one Chinese dialect fluently. Weekly staff meetings, supervision, and in-service training are included.
