Teach private lessons and band classes in drums from beginner through advanced levels and beginner piano for students ages 6 through adult. Responsibilities include preparing for classes, communicating with families, attending required meetings and special events, implementing Brooklyn Music Factory curriculum, building community, and achieving the school's communication, curriculum, and community goals. Applicants must have pop or rock songwriting experience, at least 3 years of classroom or teaching experience, and experience working with children ages 4 and up. The role requires creativity, strong communication skills, a love of games, belief in every individual's musical potential, availability for staff meetings, willingness to learn online systems, and consistent weekly teaching from September through June. Scheduling may include weekday afternoons and evenings and Saturdays. Pay is $25 to $50 per hour based on position and experience, with paid department meetings, retirement savings with a 3% match, paid curriculum development opportunities, and paid sick and safe leave.
