Brooklyn Music Factory is seeking music teachers with pop or rock songwriting experience, at least 3 years of classroom or teaching experience, and experience working with children ages 4 and older. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching classes, communicating consistently with families, attending required meetings and special events, and achieving the organization's communication, resource assignment, and community-building goals. Teachers should love games, believe in every individual's musical potential, enjoy being creative and playful with children, communicate strongly, learn and share curriculum ideas, use online systems, and commit to teaching consistently from September through June. The schedule can include weekday afternoons and evenings and Saturdays, with monthly meetings, student performances, and communication during work hours. Compensation is $35 to $50 per hour based on experience and years at Brooklyn Music Factory, with retirement savings including a 3% match, paid sick and safe leave, and paid vacation days.
