Work on an industry-funded project in hydrogen fuel cells at the School of Chemistry, UNSW. The successful applicant will synthesise low platinum and platinum-free catalysts for hydrogen fuel cells, evaluate their performance in three-electrode systems and real hydrogen fuel cell devices, and conduct advanced operando and post-mortem characterisation. Applicants should have a Master's degree or First Class Honours in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a similar discipline. Desired skills include knowledge of electrochemical energy technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells, electrolysers or batteries, demonstrated research and publication experience, and excellent spoken and written English. The position is available immediately and offers the opportunity to pursue a career in clean energy and sustainability, including electric vehicles, green hydrogen production and export, and decarbonisation technologies.
