Clark+Elbing is seeking a Patent Agent/Technology Specialist with a background in Biology or Chemistry to join its Legal Staff. The role involves collaborating with Partners on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, performing intellectual property due diligence, preparing reports, opinion letters, applications and technical publications, analyzing licensing agreements and investor due diligence studies, synthesizing scientific information for patent applications, and assisting with client counsel regarding patentability, freedom to operate and patent validity. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biology or Chemistry, 0-5+ years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm setting, excellent analytical and communication skills, strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is a plus but not required. Flexible working conditions, including remote and hybrid positions, are offered.
