Paralegal Apprentices provide administrative support to legal teams, individual lawyers and work groups while learning the fundamentals of providing a professional legal service. Duties include file administration, document and file management, archiving and retrieval, reception cover, answering calls, greeting clients, liaising with clients, Chambers and mediation venues, filing documents at court where necessary, handling post, data entry, diary management, opening new application instructions, reporting work issues and collating information. Candidates should be reliable, adaptable, conscientious and able to work to instructions, with good organisational, IT, communication, keyboard and prioritisation skills. The role is suited to enthusiastic and committed Londoners who want to become qualified lawyers. Applicants need at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C including Maths and English, while one or more A levels would be an advantage. The apprenticeship includes Level 3 CILEx Paralegal Apprenticeship training, college day release and the opportunity to progress towards the Level 6 CILEx Professional Higher Diploma in Law and Practice. LEXLAW states that it pays a salary in excess of national apprenticeship rates and covers education and training costs, with long-term employment offered in return for commitment to its clients and team. Applicants should be able to commence an apprenticeship within six weeks of applying. The page states that LEXLAW is not currently recruiting Paralegal Apprentices.
