Compile bills including detailed advice of all work performed and disbursements incurred, and track and provide a detailed assessment of costs for litigation proceedings. The role requires thorough knowledge of relevant law and practice for costs recovery, usually at the High Court and Companies Court, experience drafting substantial bills of costs, excellent negotiating skills, experience of oral costs assessment hearings, up to date knowledge of costs rules including Mitchell conditions and Precedent H, and familiarity with DBAs, CFAs and ATE insurance. Applicants should have experience as a costs lawyer, knowledge of current costs issues, and flexibility in working hours to accommodate deadlines. Remuneration is negotiable and dependent on experience and career history. The role is based at Middle Temple, an Inn of Court.
