Provide choral and voice training and music education to children and youth in Tier 1 East Vancouver public schools. Responsibilities include preparing diverse and engaging choral repertoire, planning curriculum and tracking progress with SJMA's Program Director, liaising with school teachers and administrators, organizing family presentations, promoting SJMA's programs, answering questions from teachers and parents, and assisting families with applications. Candidates must be able to organize and direct rehearsals incorporating vocal pedagogy, singing technique, warm-ups, ear training, sight reading and diverse repertoire. Group teaching experience with young people of varying ages and effective class management skills are required. Experience working with children with special needs and piano skills are assets. Candidates must be fluent in English, currently reside in Greater Vancouver, be permanently eligible to work in Canada, and complete a police record check for working with vulnerable persons. The position runs 3.25 hours per day, 2 days per week, for 36 weeks from September 2026 to June 2027, following the VSB school schedule.
