Saint James Music Academy is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help children in grades 1 to 5 participate in group music classes, providing individual attention and support. Duties include reporting on student behaviour and progress, assisting with classroom management, and motivating and encouraging students. Applicants should have proven experience working with children and youth requiring additional support due to learning differences or behavioural challenges, professional experience or relevant education in educational assistance or a related field, and excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills. Music literacy and skills are an asset. The successful applicant must complete a police criminal record check and be fluent in English, reside in Greater Vancouver, and be permanently eligible to work in Canada. This is an opportunity to join a community-based, after-school orchestral and choir music program for children.
