Complete a seven-month, fully funded professional development career-accelerator practicum for creative writers of color. Fellows participate in professional development workshops, writing workshops, co-working sessions, guest-speaker sessions, two Weekend Intensives, and occasional onsite meetings in San Francisco. During the final four months, Fellows submit work to publications, conferences, residencies, and contests. The program is designed for California creative writers of color who are not under a publishing contract, do not have literary agent representation, do not have a lengthy list of publishing credits, and do not hold a doctoral degree in English, Creative Writing, or Literature. A Bachelor's degree is required. Fellows must maintain a minimum grade of 90, meet attendance and assignment requirements, and be able to attend required in-person events. Graduates receive a Literary Launch Package, including a Learn-to-Earn stipend.
