Maples Group legal scholarships are awarded to appropriately qualified Caymanians to pursue a law degree or postgraduate legal professional course at recognised colleges or universities. The scholarship is worth up to US$40,000 per academic year throughout the duration of the degree course, normally three years, and may be awarded for longer in appropriate cases. Applicants must have Caymanian status, should normally be under 30 years old, and must have been offered a conditional or unconditional place at a recognised college or university commencing at the start of the relevant academic year. Candidates are expected to pursue their course diligently, typically achieving at least upper second class honours, provide regular progress updates and examination results, and supply proof of enrolment each year. Applications require an online application form and supporting documents including academic certificates, transcripts, evidence of the university place, course cost information and a recent passport-sized photograph or headshot. Applicants may be invited to an interview, and references will be sought from named referees.
