PHS Community Services Society is seeking casual Home Support Workers for frontline positions supporting marginalized people at properties in Vancouver and Victoria. Duties include cleaning resident rooms, laundry, de-hoarding, maintaining shift reports and checklists, supporting residents and transitions of residency, responding respectfully to concerns and hostile interactions, responding to overdoses, monitoring residents' pets, and taking safety and security measures. Applicants should have current First Aid and CPR certification, a non-judgmental and compassionate harm reduction approach, and preferably a Class 5 driver's licence. One to two years' experience working with marginalized populations is an asset, while volunteer and lived experience are valued. The role involves weekday work and sometimes weekends, but no nights, with flexible monthly scheduling and opportunities for additional hours. PHS offers collaborative multidisciplinary teams, opportunities for advancement, weekend premiums, and access to a family assistance program. This is a unionized CUPE 5536 position paying $30.46 per hour plus 10 per cent in lieu of benefits. Successful applicants must complete a criminal records check.
