Based at Gibson’s Funeral Services in Bishop Auckland, the Funeral Service Operative provides reassurance to families and helps care for their loved ones. Duties include bringing people into care, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased, participating in funeral services, pallbearing and helping ensure everything goes smoothly. A full driving licence is required, and the role includes the out-of-hours and on-call rota. Within this role, the successful candidate will also be trained as a Funeral Director to support business needs. Previous funeral industry experience is desirable but not essential.
