Based at Gibson’s Funeral Services in Bishop Auckland, the Funeral Service Operative provides reassurance to families and helps care for their loved ones. Duties include bringing people into care, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased, participating in funeral services, pallbearing and helping ensure everything goes smoothly. A full driving licence is required, and the role includes the out-of-hours and on-call rota. The role is challenging and rewarding, with opportunities to progress into Funeral Director roles.
