Based at White Dove Funeral Home in Dunstable, the Funeral Service Operative provides reassurance to families and helps prepare their loved ones for their final journey. Duties include bringing people into care, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, dressing the deceased, participating in funeral services and pallbearing. The role requires a full UK manual driving licence and includes an out of hours and on-call rota. The usual working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, although hours may occasionally be between 7am and 6pm depending on funeral service needs. There is an opportunity to progress into roles such as Funeral Director.
